The Internet Does Things To Me (And My Wallet)

So after watching tons of tutorials and vlogs from beautiful people who live in California, I have been wanting to achieve that tousled/beach-like/"oh-I-didn't-do-much-with-it" hair, which has made add some new additions to my collection of hair products.

I got this Di:fi mousse mainly to see what the whole mousse craze was about, as I've never really used a product like this. The only thing that might turn me off from it is that it's a spray. Which I didn't know while buying it. Oh well, it might turn out to be a huge plus!

The other thing that I got was this hairspray from TIGI Bed Head. I really do like most of their products, and when I saw Nikkietutorials rave about this huge space-dildo hairspray I had no choice but to get. I simply had to. I haven't used it yet, but because of the fuss about the smell I just had to spray some around in my room. It was worth the sticky floors.

Future updates will come!

Planning

I've finally booked an appointment with a hairdresser, and this time I won't be going for no simple "just a small snip- ends ONLY, please" kind of look. Oh no, I'll be going full on. Somewhere in my mind I realised that I was now legally my own guardian, and after years of pleading my parents to dye my hair (they never did soften to the idea) I can now finally do whatever look I want, whenever I want. Rebellious much?

The look that I'm going for are long layers and really soft caramel locks that almost give off a summery vibe. I've been dying to get the ombré effect, but I think I've come to terms with the fact that everyone and no one has done it. But then again, I'm not sure what life brings and what the hairdresser and I will decide on the day, so it'll all be a mystery till then.

Generally, the look that I'm going for is something á la Claire Marshall from HeyClaire on Youtube. She's beyond beautiful, asdfg, words can't describe her. They just can't. Look at the pictures down below, and you'll see what I'm getting at. Ideally I would have her best friend and hair stylist, Anna Lee from Annaleeandjesse on Youtube, to do my hair but alas; Chaz Dean, L.A. seems just a bit far away and pricey for some caramel and honey hair-goodness.

Christmas Shopping

These pictures are actually rather old, as I took them a few weeks ago when we went shopping for Christmas presents. It was a bit chaotic as we set out right before due-date and because we had decided to get all of them at once, which made going to a semi-big ass mall seem most befitting. Also, it meant that we would stay indoors.

We actually did pretty well in finding most of the gifts and staying within the budget (well, not really with the budget, but whatever we tried and almost succeeded. Maths, what?) and after hours of scouting for good deals and ticking off the wish lists we spoiled ourselves with something nice to drink at Baresso a.k.a. the Danish equivalent to Starbucks.

We actually had one more on the team but he totally ditched us, which sucks as we could've used all of his excessive athletics muscles.

Ciao Chai

Ever since I was gifted Bodum's thermal cup, by the courtesy of the one and only Torild, I've been cazy about trying all sorts of teas, coffees and hot chocolates. For one I feel irrationally grown up walking down the street holding that thermal cup and secondly: I didn't realize that there were so many good and easy drinks to be made! I know that all that tastes much better home made, but I'm simply having too much fun trying out whatever is on the market.

Amongst loose tea leaves, cappuccino and cocoa, I've also picked up a ton of Chai Lattes. I've actually bought other tastes since i snapped the picture down below, but it's from the same brand so I thought to excuse myself for lack of visuals. After numerous trial and errors I found that these are much better when mixed with water, as it says on the back . At first I really did not like the Chai Latte with caramel, but I've been really enjoying mixing it with coffee. The pure Chai Latte with cinnamon spice is very good on its own! The other tastes that I got were Green Tea & Ginger and Cocoa Chai. The Green Tea & Ginger is VERY unique, definitely a taste you need to be accustomed to. I was a little afraid to try the one with cocoa, but it actually turned out very delicious (also when mixed with the Cinnamon Spice one).

These are just some thoughts on Fredsted's Chai Lattes, if you were ever interested in trying them or something alike.

Christmas Celebrations

My class figured that it would be memorable to have something we in Denmark call a "Julefrokost" which directly translated gives you: Christmas lunch. It's a bit misleading as it can both be during lunch time, later on, and also even dinner. Very, very confusing.

We were invited into the home of one of the sweet girls from class, and in order to feed ourselves we all thought to bring one dish each (or two for one, e.g. the duck was a little pricey) and make a buffet. Oh Lord, it was all so delicious! We had all the Chrismassy dishes - of Denmark, at least- such as duck, flæskesteg, brune kartofler, rødkål. There was even ris á la mande for dessert! We have a vegetarian in class and since most of the dishes are pure meat, he brought samosas. Oh Samosa Joe.

Everyone was in a happy and festive mood. It came to be the memorable night  we all had hoped for.

Be Merry & Bright x Too Faced

Holiday make up, yay! I know that I'm super late on posting this review but the past few weeks have seriously just disappeared, like a thief in the night. Today I have a few thoughts on one (or two) of Too Faced's holiday palettes. It comes in a box that shows the products and shades, two palettes, a lash injection mascara and a cute pouch to keep it all together.

My initial reaction was: Oh. My. God. What a lovely little packet! I love it! And from then on it just kind of went down the hill.

I really dig the packaging of it. It's thin, light weight, sleek and very festive. Apparently some lady who knows what she's doing designed the pattern, which is nice but definitely something that is nice because of the jolly atmosphere. I really dig the pouch too; it's not good for much other purposes and the gold patent with white dots isn't really my thing, but it's cute nonetheless. Also, the see through part is very convenient. There are also tutorials on the inside, which is a nice touch.

The variety of shades are nice too. There are shimmers, glitters, satins and mattes. Purples, greens, nudes and pinks. The added blushes, bronzer and high lighter was a nice tough too. But here's where it gets sour.

At first I just thought it was only an issue for me, but after reading and watching reviews made on the other holiday palettes by Too Faced (no idea why TF went for different packaging in the US and here in Europe), but the owners also had similar issues as I. My biggest stress is that the shadows are super pigmented at initial application; and then it just.. disappears. Poof. Just like the last few weeks. The only shades that really shows up and stays put are: Chocolate Moon + Buttered Rum and Starry Night, Sequin + Bright Eyes. And this just ain't doing it for me. I was really excited for Bubbly, Brown Sugar and Mauvelous, so this makes me extra bummed haha.

The bronzer is amazing though, which is the sole reason I reach for one of the palettes most days. The high lighter is pretty too, but way too glittery for me! It's nice for parties and other special occassions. The blushes are nice too, but I do prefer Peachy Keen. It's in the same family with Benefit's Coralista and Nars' Orgasm blushes. Very coral and shimmery.

I don't have too much to say about the mascara. I actually have nothing to say at all since I haven't tried it yet. But I will try to update you all on it in my future endeavors!

All in all it's an alright holiday palette(s). If only the pigmentation and staying power was great in all of the shades I would've LOVED it; but it just ain't doing it for me. Sorry Too Faced, but I need you to go back to the laboratory and re-formulate those babies for the next time around. Even with the poor results on some of it, it's still a decent deal for the price. Not too bad. I wouldn't recommend it, but definitely check it out if you're interested.

I'm sorry for the long and exhausting post, I just felt as if I had to redeem myself due to being MIA the past many days. I hope it worked *wink wink*
