A Lunar New Year Celebration,

.. for the whole of February- I ain't complaining! Last year I got to spend it in Sydney, Australia where there are tonnes of people of Asian heritage to whom it's customary to celebrate. There were also just lot of party-loving people in general who'd love any excuse to throw a ball. It was awesome. Although I was definitely more into the whole Chinese New Year festivitt last year, I like being home and get to enjoy the holiday with my family. And I received ang pao this year to (so worth it).

A Poison Tree, William Blake

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine.
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

Shiseido x Perfect Rouge - BR 702

I bought this on a whim but you can never really go wrong with a nude, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! It's this deep beige/pink mauve-y colour that I find so perfect, as it compliments tons of skin tones, hair colours, euye colours and all that jazz. It's so easy to slap on and wear. No fuss.

I recommended it to one of my friends who is significantly paler in the I-want-that-milky-complexion-too kind of way and with fire red hair; she was hesitant and suggested that she might need another shade of nude but after some contemplation I honestly think that it would look really good on her too. It cancels out the pink and red tones and offers a nice sheer and glossy coating.

The packaging is pretty and sturdy. I find that even though I'm constantly rubbing this product all over my lips there is still quite a bit left, suggesting that it will last a long while making it worth the price. The staying power is so-so but it wears very well, which makes up for it. It's all in all a very nice product, one to get if you feel like giving yourself a treat. I'm just really kicking myself for not getting BR 702!

Kopenhagen fur x Chinese New Year

Kopenhagen fur had an open house the other day to start off fashion week in Denmark- I actually think that the Danish fashion week happened earlier than usual only because of Kopenhagen fur's new season. That is the pull of the company!

I went with my parents and big sister and even though it was kind of remote (the factory is located in suburban Copenhagen) there was a great show up. The theme was centered around the lunar new year, and so the whole arrangement was dynamic, interesting and well made. I went on a tour of the impressive building, saw a crazy fun dance/runway fashion show, scored some heavily discounted leather gloves ('tis the season), but most importantly: free dim sum. FREE DIM SUM.

It was a great experience and I hope to go again if possible.

OPI x Top Coat

Best. Topcoat. Ever. There aren't a whole lot of things to be said, other than it does what every topcoat should do. The broad brush makes for a beautiful and even application, the formulation itself seals in the polish in a few minutes, it is glossy, it mends sloppy polish, and last but not least; it makes your hard work stay put for quite a a while (depends on what you do on a day to day basis though!). The price is fair considering the product you get, so I'm a very satisfied girl.

i-Divine, Au Naturel Palette x Sleek

This palette is the bomb. Just looking at it makes me satisfied in a way that a colourful or bright  one could ever make me. It's not a happy sensation or anything, it's just knowing that you'll get a good use out of every single shade while keeping the eye make up versatile. It's that sort of simple happiness.

I got this at my local Sephora in inner Copenhagen a few weeks back, and I'm still as psyched to have it in my possession. I think it's just one of those hyped cult classic make up items that you never thought you could get your hands on unless you went abroad, but low and behold!

Let me just start of by saying that I absolutely dig the packaging of the palette. It's so light weight and.. Sleek, for a lack of better words. The huge mirror is a great plus for traveling too! The only minus is the annoying plastic sheet that I can't toss for the best of me. It's got all the names on it! Other than that bagatelle, it has a good assortment of mattes and shimmers. But to all you sparkle lovers out there; there are no real glitter shades I'm afraid. I, however, am sure to make good use out of it because of that. The two shades Conker and Mineral earth are really rich in colour, which might make up for the lack of bedazzle.

The pigmentation ranges between decent for the lighter colours and superb for the deeper ones. With a good base, everything is possible. I recommend something creamy, perhaps with an opaque tint to really amp up the results.

I could see myself bringing on a trip, the colours are nice, the selection is perfect (for a simpleton as I) and the price is hard to beat. I have already recommended it!

Shop Amok

I went online with an idea of what to get and somehow I ended up with almost a complete outfit. I'm actually rather pleased with what I found, as I could really see myself use these things quite a lot.

I think I'll get most use out of the backpack and Converse, but I'm way excited for the cap! Also, I've put an effort into not buying random jewellery and I think this bracelet will be a nice piece in my (hopefully) more streamline collection. As for the t-shirt.. I simply could not resist- Mean Girls reference, anyone??
