Australia, I Miss You.

I miss Australia. I miss Sydney, Lidcombe. I miss Gold Coast. I miss TAFE and all its staff. I miss good bubble tea. I miss the grandeur. I miss the diversity. I miss its history. I miss the people, the kind and unfortunate. I miss the food. I miss the nature. I miss the buildings old and new. I miss the events, I miss their thousand parades. I miss their animals. I miss the cheese cake. I miss the faeries. I miss the hustling people at Paddy's market. I miss the supermarkets. I miss the freedom, the laid backn-ness of it all. I miss the authors, poets and entertainers. I miss the beaches. I miss the trains. I miss the shopping centres. I miss the galleries and the museums. I miss the shopping carts that are everywhere. I miss the tunnels underground. I miss the honking. I miss my shorts. I miss prime-time TV. I miss zumba. I miss the pool. I miss the crazy scorching sun and I miss the stormy rain. I miss the atmosphere. Australia, I miss you. What am I doing here?

&Otherstories Beauty Haul

I was super psyched when I saw that &Otherstories carried brands such as Niké, but I was even more impressed by their make up selection! They had cool brands like It Works but I went hunting on their The Balm stand. I have heard so many people rave about these pallettes and seen them on quite a lot of blogs too. I told myself:" You so need to get a hold on one of these bad boys next time you're going travelling", but little did I know that I just had to walk ten minutes from my school.

Not surprising, I'm very impressed by the pigmentation. Application is smooth and buttery and the packaging is top sassy as well.although they are a little big dimension wise, they are sleek and easy to slip in between pallettes or into drawers. The brushes that comes with are rubbish, but it's nice to have the option I suppose. The only thing that I'm a tad gutted about is the Nude'tude pallette, and its selection of lighter tanned colours (if that makes sense lol) that aren't super shimmery. The eye shadows are all very dark/deep colours. Other than that I am glad I invested in these, and I hold Meet Matt(e) dearly to my heart already. It inspires me to try a bolder colour like blue on an every day basis, and who doesn't dig a little colour?

When I saw the creamy off-white pencil I was stoked! It applies like a dream and now I don't have to buy Topaz from Stila (when overseas) as this offers a more natural fresh pop of brightness on the eyes. The supply of flesh coloured eye liners is critical and basically non-existent -in Denmark at least- so yay for &Otherstories. This shade is called Linen I believe.

Empties II

Maybelline Line Define
So, years back I bought this thing at random, but when I tried it and the colour pay off was really poor it made me sad, and I quickly discarded it- But when cleaning out my collection I grabbed it and tried it out and ended up loving it! The felt tip provided superb precision and the black was not all shabby. Unfortunately it has been discontinued since, but it was a loving relationship while it lasted. This post will contain many discontinued products, so brace yourself!

Twofaced Shadow Insurance
My first eye shadow primer *ever*, which makes this super old. I just recently found it and thought that I should give me two-cents about it since I did really like it. It kept the eyeshadows put on my crazy oily lids and was practical in a squeeze tube. The formula is liquid and leaves a thin veil of product on your lids, which is something I appreciate when I want a non-fuss look. It is nice size, easy to travel with too. I might buy this again, but for now I dedicate my love to my Painterly Paint Pot from MAC.

Essence "You Rock" primer
This primer really surprised me! Plenty of product came in this tiny bottle and the quality was really good too- probably one of my top three eyeshadow primers! It is from the inexpensive brand Essence and their long gone collection "You Rock" that had a lot of decent products, especially their lip tints. It has a doe foot applicator, perfect for fast application to the lids. Me likes, but alas! It's discontinued.

EOS lipbalm in Mint
I had heard many many raving about the EOS lip balms, so I couldn't resist; and having tried a few and for 3+ years I can honestly say that I am not crazy about them. The moisturizing abilities are in my opinion just so-so. Even though the packaging is really fun and easy to spot in your bag, it's also annoyingly big and bulky too. The only scent that I cared to apply religiously on my lips was the scent with mint. Cute product, but too pricey for what they are.

Helena Rubenstein Collagene Eye Zoom
Although there is a generous amount of product in one of these tiny tubes, I really don't think there was enough for me to evaluate whether it really worked or not. Probably wouldn't buy a full size of this, but it was interesting to try. It was okay, not anything sensationally soft or moisturizing, just.. Okay.

New Wallet x &Otherstories

Tinypic just deleted one of my pictures of this wallet; it was of the back and its gigantic handle thing (that's pretty tricky to explain) in maroon. Nonetheless, I will proceed! This was my very first purchase from &Otherstories that's a fairly new shop and I fell for this piece right away; there's just something really classy about the texture and its grey shade. It's made of real leather, and I know there are many who are not impressed by this particular textile so I thought it important to mention.

It's spacious with enough compartments to make me satisfied, I'm impressed overall- and even after smearing salsa and pouring bubble tea over the poor fellow it still looks pretty and grey-blue, which makes me love it even more. The only con would probably be the weight as it's a crafty little one, but that's it. The price is good seeing as it's authentic leather, so no qualms there. Just a very happy me.

Taking Note

I once knew a girl
in the years of my youth
with eyes like summer
all beauty and truth
in the morning I fled,
left a note and it read;

Demure Vixen x Essie

Such a pretty polish; Demure Vixen by Essie. It's a mauve-pink with slight shimmers that makes the polish look glossy at all times. It can be applied with one layer for a flawless "your nails but better" or build up pigmentation and have it the gorgeous shade that is on my finger tips on the pictures below. I love the polish at whatever intensity, so it's really up to you haha.

However, i think it has been discontinued since I purchased it, which makes me utterly sad- but if you *can*  get it, grab a hold of a bottle and never let go!

An Oddity

So ugly to me that I find it endearing. I just never was that 24kt gold, pinks and diamonds kind of gal. However, Topshop has managed to create this extraordinarily random piece of jewellery and I couldn't resist- I bought this at Topshop for full price, and I rarely buy anything at Topshop at full price mind you.

It has got these two killer "stones" on it surrounded by plastic in gold, but it does come off as a rose-gold at first glance. My theory is that the leather did the trick, for how cool is that? I bought it in a large, regrettably, as the ring keeps expanding. I did have this notion in the back of my head, but I thought: what the hell. I can always pop it on another finger.

Color Tattoo - 35 Tough as Taupe x Maybelline

The first thing that came to my mind when I swatched this creamy shadow on the back of my hand I suddenly thought of Copperplate eyeshadow from MAC. I swatched both on some pictures below so you can see what I'm getting at. Now, I personally love Copperplate eyeshadow for its versatile nature (eyelids, eyebrows, contouring for halloween looks) and though it can be a flattering shade of grey, it can be hard to pull off- and this is the same situation with Color Tattoo.

The Color Tattoos remind me of paint pots from MAC in the sense that it's a cream product in a glass jar. The pay off is great- crazy pigmented! Although it claims to be a "tattoo" - I assume this refers to the staying power- it doesn't hold up super well. I am honest about having oily lids and I have tried various ways of applying it to be sure that I use it the right way (pat it on, slide it on, pack it on), but it does start to crease. However, the creasing only comes forth at the 8th or so hour, and while some might insist that this is very long wearing, I won't as eight hours is the amount of time I am out of the door, in school and home again.

Another thing is to use little or avoid using it on your eyebrows- it get's very waxy and creamy! It's possible, but I'd just steer away from that. It's a great product though and I am pleased to have added it in my ever growing collection.

Another One

Show me what you got Ellie, 'cause Lana did it pretty darn well

Pugsweat

Sometimes you notice that the designer etc. just messed up the name. Not sure if pun intended or not, but makes me love my sweater a little bit more.

Empties

Some of these products' end has been long coming, and others are all new. I've always though that it was interesting to see "Empties", whether it's because the products were too awesome to be shelfed for a long time or if it was kind of "meh"and you just had to get through the bottle. I have finished and kept quite a few products the past weeks to make these posts, so brace yourself!

For me, I finished the Elizabeth Arden lip balm first- at first I didn't think that it was worth the hype, however, as we entered winter my lips started revolting and got a winter depression, and this stuff appeared to be the only cure. It's great because it's not only moisturizing, but it has healing properties too. Will repurchase.

The Simple make up remover was a lovely experience too. Very straight forward- a see through liquid that removes your make up mildly. I must note that it doesn't get rid of water proof/resistant make up very well! All in all, it was a nice product and an inexpensive one too. Might repurchase if I finish up my other make up removers.

This nail polish remover was a random purchase! I stood in my local supermarket and in dire need of one, and I grabbed the first and the best- and boy was it best! It removed all my nail polishes like a dream, and worked super well for the price, which is fairly inexpensive. Will repurchase in future.

Biotherm's Bioepure is a cleanser/mask that I kept going back to. It removes dirt and the clogged pores and leaves the skin refreshed and smelling nice too. Very pricey compared to much else, and especially because my all time favourite cleanser/mask is one from Garniere. If you find Garnieres' products too harsh, I would definitely recommend this. If it were on offer I'd splurge!

The Pug Life

I have been wanting this print for the looongest time! Come on, it's absolutely adorable. It's actually a really nice jumper too- they've somehow managed to make the "interior" really soft and it holds warmth very well. A bit pricey, but then again I got mine at Urban Outfitters.
